New leadership, shared vision

New leadership, shared vision

Rebecca Gemmell23 May - 05:00

Felixstowe Rugby Club’s AGM welcomes fresh roles and bold ambitions.

Following our recent AGM, we’re proud to announce the appointment of three key roles shaping the future of Felixstowe Rugby Club. With deep roots in our community and a shared drive for growth, these individuals bring passion, experience and ambition to the heart of our club.

? Rob Brewster – Club President

Rob’s journey with Felixstowe Rugby spans over 30 years, and his appointment as President is a proud moment for both him and the club.

“This club has been a major part of my life for over three decades, and I’ve long admired those who have held this position before me. I’m honoured and humbled to follow in their footsteps. With the continued support of our members, volunteers, and committee, I’m committed to helping shape the long-term future we’ve all been working towards.”

? Shaun Allen – Chairman

A long-time member of the club and a close friend of the late Steve Spraggett, Shaun steps into the role of Chairman with clear focus and purpose.

“Bob Page has been an outstanding President and a strong partner in Steve’s vision for the club, especially the realisation of our floodlight project. I’m proud to continue this legacy alongside Rob as President.

Our next major goal is to expand and improve the clubhouse—creating a space that reflects the energy and growth of our players and community. That means stronger community links, support from sponsors, and a thriving playing environment for seniors, minis and youth alike.”

? Andy Osborne – Youth & Minis Chairman

Andy takes on this vital role with energy and purpose, continuing to coach within the minis while leading our Youth & Minis programme into the future.

“It’s an honour to step into this role within such a passionate rugby family. Our Youth & Minis sections are the future of this club, and I’m committed to creating a safe, inclusive and fun space for all our young players.

I’ll be supporting coaches, organising fixtures, upholding safeguarding standards and acting as a strong link between our young players and the wider club. Most of all, I want every child who walks through our gates to feel part of something special because rugby is about so much more than just the game.”

Together, this leadership team brings continuity, ambition, and a strong sense of community. With the groundwork laid by those before them, and the full support of our brilliant volunteers and members, we’re excited for what’s to come.
